Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. has adopted an Organisational Model in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree no. 231/2001 in order to guarantee the best conditions of fairness and transparency in conducting its business affairs and activities.
Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. is confident that adopting this Model may be an effective means of raising awareness among company employees and all other stakeholders (Customers, Suppliers and Partners, etc.) so that while carrying out their activities they respect behaviour based on the principles of legality, loyalty and fairness in order to prevent any risk of crimes being committed.

An integral part of the Organisational Model is the Code of Ethics, which establishes the lines of conduct and standards of integrity and transparency to be followed by all employees of Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. while working together and with third parties.

Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. has adopted an integrated Quality and Environment Management System as its way of being and operating, and as a strategic tool for its overall business management.

The Quality Management System, implemented in compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard, indicates the company's pursuit of ongoing improvement in the services it provides, as well as in the integration and efficiency of processes. Quality is our main competitive advantage.

The Environmental Management System, implemented in compliance with the ISO 14001:2005 standard, shows the company's willingness to manage all aspects arising from activities, processes and products that might be the cause of environmental impact. Bearing this in mind, Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. is constantly striving to:
  • Reduce the use of natural resources in favour of renewable energy sources
  • Reduce the use of hazardous substances in its products
  • Increase the use of recycled materials by reducing the production of waste
  • Manage the internal purification plant for first flush rain water from the company's yards and for re-using sludge

For products supplied as raw materials for the cosmetics market, Veneta Mineraria has obtained Ecocert Greenlife certification in compliance with Ecocert and Cosmos standards for “natural and organic cosmetics”.

Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. considers it of primary importance to ensure the health and safety of its employees, contractors, visitors and all those who work for the company. The company also continuously strives to comply with relevant standards and regulations. Veneta Mineraria is implementing a Health and Safety management system for its employees, in accordance with the OHSAS 18001 standard aimed at managing all aspects arising from activities, processes and products that might place the health and safety of its employees at risk. Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. provides for the systematic control of risks in the workplace and encourages continuous improvement in the performance of occupational health and safety, promoting the increasing involvement of managers of activities that may have an impact on health and safety at work.

Respecting the environment is a priority goal of Veneta Mineraria S.p.A., pursued and implemented with the construction of a production process that minimises the environmental impact of its activities.

Over the years, the company has undertaken to implement environmental protection projects aimed at reducing the impact of products and processes by means of the following measures:
  • Installation of a photovoltaic system for the company's energy needs of about 405kWp; this system allows our company to reduce the use of natural resources by about 25%, using energy from renewable sources, with a reduction of about 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
  • Development of an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study, in collaboration with the University of Padua to assess the environmental impact related to the various stages of a product life cycle. The study assessed and compared the potential impact regarding product preparation, starting with natural minerals or other minerals recovered from previous processing, aimed at the environmental improvement of processes and products.

Veneta Mineraria treats all its employees fairly, with the respect and dignity that everyone deserves, in accordance with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Declaration on the fundamental principles and rights at work. The company is committed to prohibiting forced labour and child labour and to a free choice of trade union, the right of association and collective bargaining, allowing equal pay for jobs of equal value and the elimination of any discrimination in access to employment.

For Veneta Mineraria S.p.A., human resources are an indispensable and essential asset, since their qualities and skills are a real competitive advantage within its field of reference. The importance of having a staff of professionals with the latest skills, learning ability and, above all, a high level of dynamism has been vital for the company. Therefore, it is essential for our company to have a basis of ongoing and consistent training that can provide mandatory training in health and safety, as well as more specific training to motivate and exploit the talent of staff at all production levels.

Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. supports the fight against violence, the violation of human rights and environmental degradation in extracting and selling certain minerals in the geographical area defined as the "Conflict Region", which includes the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its neighbouring countries. With this in mind, our company does not purchase minerals from these mines and has started a work process with its suppliers to ensure that minerals from the "Conflict Region" are not used. Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. fully supports this law and it intends to avoid the use of minerals that are not certified as "conflict free".

For many years, Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. has been committed to promoting charitable activities within its own local community, with non-profit organisations and various schools in the area.

In particular, Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. supports a local non-profit organisation that provides healthcare in general for people and families in difficulty, especially by transporting sick, dependent or disabled people, to and from hospitals.

Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. also collaborates with local schools to allow the development of alternating school/work training programmes, giving secondary school students the opportunity to follow a training programme at our company. In this way, they are able to gain experience “in the field” to bridge the “training” gap between the world of work and school in terms of skills and preparation. Today's students are tomorrow's professionals.
