History

Veneta Mineraria was founded in 1944 in Este, a town of ancient origins situated in north-east Italy, in the southern Euganean Hills area in the province of Padua.
The brilliant insight of its founder Engineer Felice Spinoglio allowed the company to develop its extraction, production and sales business, which groups together the application of some minerals used as raw materials in primary industrial markets.
In Este, Veneta Mineraria designs, produces and sells mineral-based products, with a special focus on developing high performance active fillers.
Veneta Mineraria is a leading producer in Europe of sulphides and oxides, minerals that are mainly used to produce: abrasive grinding wheels and discs, abrasive papers and fabrics, resulphurized steel (highly workable steel), glass containers (for wine, beer, oil, perfumes and medicines), flat glass (for the automotive industry), brake pads and a variety of other products.
Since 2005, the production and sales departments of Veneta Mineraria have been restructured, developing new products and increasing activities in the Este area. In 2005, the company took over the segment from Veneta Mineraria S.p.A.

Mission

The company goal is to increase the knowledge acquired in over half a century of processing mineral products and continuously develop product performance, in various fields of application, as well as new solutions that can boost the product performance required by customers.

Respect for the environment

Veneta Mineraria has successfully passed the surveillance audit for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management certification and the audit for the renewal of its ISO 1400:2005 Environmental certification, focusing on ongoing improvements for customer satisfaction, environmental protection and a high standard of safety.
The importance that Veneta Mineraria places on certifications ensures continuous improvements to processes, allowing the company’s organisation to remain active, sustainable and efficient.
In 2011, Veneta Mineraria S.p.A. installed a photovoltaic system on its factory roofs in Este.
A place in the sun is ensured for 1,800 solar panels with a power of 405 kW, covering a surface area of 5,000 sq. m, in Via Belle and in Via Ca’ Manzoni. Up to now, the electricity production has totalled 861,278,00 KWh, with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions of 622,746 kg during the period of operation.
All data are updated in real time and shown on the screen at the factory entrance: a concrete and active commitment to protecting the environment drastically reduces the emission of polluting substances into the atmosphere and guarantees a substantial saving in costs, as well as the “certainty” of a clean and inexhaustible energy source.
